On 17 July 2025 Green Growth Bangladesh launched the Go For Green – Child Awareness Programme at the first of three partner schools. The programme brings environmental education into the classroom and ends with every student taking a sapling home.
What happened
- Recycling Saves The Earth session: an interactive talk on waste, recycling and why trees matter, followed by students presenting their own posters.
- Drawing activity: students drew their vision of a green, clean Bangladesh.
- Sapling distribution: each participant received a sapling to plant and care for at home.
- Tree planting: the GGB team and students planted guava saplings on the school grounds.
Why it matters
Children are the most effective messengers for environmental change. When a student understands why plastic in the drain floods the street or why a tree cools the schoolyard, that message travels home to parents and neighbours. Go For Green is designed to be repeated across many schools with a simple, low-cost format.
