Bangladesh is among the countries most exposed to the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Sea-level rise, cyclones, riverbank erosion, salinity intrusion and erratic monsoons are already displacing families and eroding livelihoods, while air and plastic pollution threaten public health in our rapidly growing cities.
GGB responds with locally led climate action: community-based adaptation planning, mangrove and wetland restoration, nature-based solutions for flood and erosion control, climate education in schools and advocacy for ambitious national and global climate commitments.
We also support communities to access climate finance and build early-warning and disaster-preparedness capacity, so that the people least responsible for climate change are not left to carry its heaviest burdens alone.
